Hand Printed - Kim's Flower
Made a new stamp for my internet buddy and new friend Kim. It kind of reminds me of a hibiscus flower and has a little bit of a Hawaiian feel when printed in blue. I actually didn't know what I was going to print for Kim, I thought a couple of panelled strips and a larger piece of fabric might be able to be utilised together in some project she dreams up. Check out her lovely quilt in progress at Sarah Lizzies
Also completed a new panel for the Lotus Flower Quilt. New one below , followed by original where I dropped my stamp right in the middle of the quilt

ReplyDeleteSo light, so fragile.
Just love them!
Imagine my surprise when I turn on my computer and I see my name in lights!! Oh Monique, you have got to be kidding!! How on earth do you keep designing these gorgeous patterns on fabric......this is incredible!!! I am in love with my new fabric!! Oh, the pressure's on now to create something worthy of your beautiful design. One word.....PERFECT!! Mark my words, young lady, it won't be long till you are famous.....just remember that you knew me before you became an illustrious artiste!!! Oh, do forgive me...your new Lotus Flower panel is amazing as well....but you knew that....right!! Thank you so very, very much!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool!
ReplyDeletewow amazing! What fun that must be.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue, I find stamping really relaxing until my back gives way..but a couple of hours is fun
Deletei love your flowers...the lotus blossoms are fabulous
ReplyDeleteFabulous work :D
ReplyDeleteSorry to take so long getting back.. I've been having a sewing frenzy with the start of my holidays and neglected most everything else. Thanks for stopping by and for you kind comments
DeleteYour work is amazing, so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMonique, what material have you used for your carvings? I have bought some lino to try but find it so stiff and difficult to work with. I'm also in Australia.
ReplyDeleteDo you sell your printed fabric?
Thanks karen, I use ezycarve rubber blocks around $16 for about 20cm x20cm but you get a few stamps out of it. I use lino carving tools to carve the stamp
DeleteI can sell fabric if you want smaller pieces the bigger you go the harder it is to get good printing all over - its a little dodgy alway getting an even print but generally when things are made up you dont notice so much
Thank you Monique, I have just ordered some Ezy Carve blocks.
DeleteI've just hopped over from Kim's lovely blog. Your fabrics are wonderful. The designs are gorgeous and the colours are really vibrant and beautiful :)
